We use a revolutionary fabric that's kinder to the planet.
The best of the best - The Econyl® fiber supports the removal of marine debris from our ocean and is made from regenerated waste including ocean plastics, nylon scraps, and ghost fishing nets. This yarn is then used to create the luxurious, soft and durable fabric we use to make our swimwear. Learn more about the process here.
As well as using compostable & biodegradable mailing bags, we also package each swimsuit into a 100% organic cotton duster bag that you can use (and reuse) wherever you go.
All of our paper, swing tags and labels are made from recycled materials and ordered from our trusted suppliers that support global reforestation. We request certification throughout our entire supply chain to ensure standards are always met - There are no short cuts here!
As of 2021, we are proud to announce that all of our garments are now made in the UK. Every piece is lovingly and ethically made by our small manufacturer in the heart of London where the workers are paid above minimum wage. We are incredibly lucky to have an amazing team who shares our ethos, values and who are just as enthusiastic about AWAY THAT DAY as we are.
Manufacturing closer to home means we have lowered our C02 emissions and are now able to visit our factory on a regular basis. We love their no-waste approach when it comes to everything they do, including energy-saving machinery and solely using recycled packaging.
What we are implementing in 2021...
We are always evolving and finding new ways to be and do better. Below are some positive things we are introducing throughout the year...
Partnering with CANOPY to support global reforestation + ensure our supply chain continues to source responsibly and ethically. Our goal is to be as eco-friendly as possible - From hang tags to hygiene liners, from fabric to packaging - We will never stop innovating and searching for a greener option.
Offset your Carbon emissions at checkout.
Partnering with GreenR to offer a donation option to become carbon neutral. With this new feature, you will be able to choose which important project you want to support & be apart of.
Recycle your own swim.
Launching our new recycling initiative in partnership with our London manufacturer.
You will now be able send us your old, no longer worn or broken swimwear (from any brand) and we will forward them onto our trusted recycling partner to be repurposed into other products. Donate your old unused swim and we will give you a £10 voucher to spend towards your next AwayThatDay purchase.
The goal is to reduce, reuse + recycle.
